Cops in the Community
As fall arrived in Chicago, the attention turned to kids returning to school and a new foot- ball season. For CPD’s finest, it also meant a new season of positive moments and community engagement. Whether being recognized for keeping drivers safe, spending time with young- sters or remembering officers who made the ultimate sacrifice, officers throughout Chicago continue to stand tall. d

             On a day known for tremendous loss, students at St. Matthias Parish in the 20th District took time to reflect on Sept. 11 and honor America and of- ficers in the community.
17th District Officer Andrew Perwoznik re- cently earned the Mothers Against Drunk Drivers Heroes Award as one of the state’s best advocates for making roads safe by re- ducing the number of intoxicated drivers.
25th Explorer Scouts in the 25th District got a full view of their law enforcement potential with local officers leading them through fitness and healthy living train- ing, as well as a visit to the CPD recruitment open house at the training academy.
