Officers work to feed Chicago
As the battle against COVID-19 rages on, food is a crucial re- source for all those facing insecurity during an economic and public health crisis.
Ensuring that civilians have enough on the table for their families is one of the chief concerns of CPD officers, who are devoting extra time and energy to keep community members fed and healthy.
The faith-based committee of the 7th District showered Englewood with support on May 21 as they hosted a walk-up and drive-through food pantry providing an abundance of fresh produce and other resources.
From meal drives to food pantries to donation distribution, officers have spared no expense in affording their commu- nities the basics needed to survive and thrive. In addition to typical line-of-duty work, law enforcement officers are now illustrating on a daily basis how to create a positive and lasting impact in their communities when it’s needed the most.
Solidarity is key, which is why 14th District officers surprised health care workers at St. Mary’s and St. Elizabeth hospitals with muffins and coffee from Starbucks. These generous contributions helped encourage and fuel those heroes to keep fighting the good fight.
