On Feb. 15, at the location of 4820 S. Martin Luther King Drive, Officers Denny Sanchez, Ricardo Nava and Armando Zambrano responded to a fire call. The officers observed heavy smoke pouring from the apartment building. Fearing that res- idents remained inside, the officers ran into the smoke and alerted tenants who were able to make it to safety due to their
actions. All three officers were transported to the hospital for smoke inhalation. Due to the officers’ disregard for their own personal safety, the residents of the building were saved.
It is with great appreciation that the Fraternal Order of Po- lice Chicago Lodge 7 presents Officers Denny Sanchez, Ricar- do Nava and Armando Zambrano with Life Saving Awards.
