SOURCES
Pouring paint is so popular now that if you haven’t tried it yet, you are missing out on a ton of fun! Every pour is different and unique which makes it a very fun background to create paintings on top. My Koi Pond is painted on a pour of different browns and metallic to create the bottom of the pond. The glossy top coat makes it seem like you are looking down at the fish swimming inside. I hope you enjoy creating your own unique background for your koi fish!
PREPARATION
Sand the wood until smooth. Wipe away any excess dust. Seal the surface with DecoArt Multi-Surface Sealer and let dry well. Sand again to remove any raised fibers on the wood.
LET’S PAINT BACKGROUND
Set up your area for the background pour. Put some freezer paper/foil down on top of the cardboard/box to protect the area. Place a scrap piece of wood on top of the paper and place your Lazy Susan down on top of the wood. This is to raise it up so the paint can run off of the surface. Add 1⁄2 to 1 ounce of the following colors in separate cups: Pebble, Burnt Umber, Mississippi Mud, and Antique Bronze. Pour an equal amount of DecoArt Pouring Medium to each of the cups and stir well with palette knife. Take an empty cup and slowly pour the
