 STEP 1
WATER DROPS AND BUBBLES
Thin Snow (Titanium) White with water and, using the liner brush, add a very thin line around the water drop. With the no. 4 bright brush, float Snow (Titanium) White along the top of the drop. Use the liner brush to add tiny sparkles of Snow (Titanium) White to the water drop. Shade along the bottom of the drop with a soft float of Black Green using the no. 4 bright brush. The bubbles are done the same way as the water drops. Dab in some Snow (Titanium) White “foam” around the bubbles in the water.
LOTUS FLOWER
Basecoat the flower petals with Wild Orchid using the no. 10 bright brush. Basecoat the center of the flower with True Ochre using the same brush (see Step 1). When dry, transfer the lines for the petals. Shade the petals with Brilliant Purple where they go under another petal, under the folds in the petals that fold over and around the center using the no. 10 bright brush. Deepen the shading with Royal Purple (see Step 2). Mix Light Orchid+Wild Orchid (1:1). Using the no. 6 bright brush, highlight the outer edges of the petals (see Step 3). Thin Light Orchid with water and, using the liner brush, add
a very thin line to the outside of each petal. On the folded petals, add the line on the edge of the fold. Thin Royal Purple with water and use the liner brush to add some tiny lines coming out from the center on each petal (see Step 4). Shade the center of the flower with Burnt Sienna using the no. 10 bright brush. Mix True Ochre+Light Buttermilk (1:1). Use the liner brush to pull some strokes onto the center
of the flower (see Step 3). Repeat this step with just Light Buttermilk on a few of the strokes. Deepen the shading on the center with a float of Royal Purple (see Step 4).
FINISHING
When dry, remove any remaining transfer lines. Varnish the Lazy Susan with three coats of Minwax Polycrylic Clear Gloss, letting dry well between coats. Attach the Lazy Susan base onto the bottom with the screwdriver and four screws.
