artist’s sketch
Karen Patton began participating in the National Society of Decorative Painters Conferences and her travel career began. When her husband Joe retired and their daughter married, they and their dog hit the road, holding seminars on portrait painting from coast to coast. This continued for 24 years until health issues called a halt to the travel during the fall of 2015 and most of 2016. Karen is now back on the road but will discontinue long trips in 2017 while still teaching in Kansas, Oklahoma and Missouri, as well as in her studio in Goddard, Kan. Karen has been privileged to paint many commissions in oil, pastel and carbon pencil over the years. Watch for news on her website for new and exciting ventures. Karen has authored a book Mastering Oil Portraits and has 24 instruction DVDs and Carbon Pencil Projects to aid aspiring portrait artists.
