PREPARATION
Trace on all the areas of the hat, scarf, and head outer shape with white graphite onto the top surface using a stylus. Make sure that the traced design matches the cutout shapes at the proper inverted V indent in the cutout. Adjust if need- ed with a white chalk pencil before applying color. The design lines you need to focus on at this point will be the hat, hat- band, and the brim of the hat with the inside of the sides that are against the snowman’s head. You will also want to show the snowman’s head and arm separation lines.
All three of the examples begin exactly alike. The shad- ing and features of the snowman are also the same. Only the hatband and the scarf have variations to give you several dif- ferent effects. It’s up to you to make them your own ... and the sky is the limit for color. Carry all colors over onto the adjoining thickness edge. Paint the back Bleached Sand.
