Capture the beauty
of the Old-Fashioned Bleeding Heart perennial while creating textural and visual interest on a pretty keepsake box.
Old-Fashioned Bleeding Heart has dainty, heart-shaped flowers that dangle from stems that are two to three feet long.
My husband and I received this plant as a wedding gift in 1990. We were living in a condo at the time and had limited plant- ing area. It didn’t seem to mind that it had to share a bed with the shrubs. Within a couple of years we purchased a house. Wanting to take the Bleeding Heart with us, I asked a garden center about the possibility of mov- ing this lovely plant. They assured me that, although it looks delicate, it is very hardy. So up it came and went with us to our new home. It has been thriving in our front gar- den ever since.
