  STEP-BY-STEP
BRANCHES, STEMS & BLOSSOMS STEP 1
STEP 3
BLOSSOMS
Blossoms are numbered from left to right. To keep the blossoms separated, base the pink areas with Warm White working on every other one (1, 3, and 5, and then 2 and 4). This will help you to distinguish each blossom. Basecoat all the white areas on Blossoms 1–5 with Warm White.
PISTIL
Base with Light Buttermilk and shade with a sideload of Foliage Green. Very lightly add a second shade with An- tique Green, then add another in a smaller area with Mid- nite Green. Shade the ball end with a soft float of Antique Maroon. Highlight with a sideload of Warm White.
WHITE AREAS
Refer to the Step-by-Step for color placement. Using either a flat or a round brush, apply Violet Haze as shown. Apply small washed areas of Cadmium Yellow+Antique Green. Over that, apply a smaller wash of Antique Green+Black Forest Green. Apply the final shade in the green areas with a light sideload of Midnite Green. Add seed details with Midnite Green using the tip of the round brush. If any area is darker than you desire, wash over it with Warm White. Lighten areas as necessary with pure Warm White.
BLOSSOMS 1–5
Wash in all the pink areas with Poodleskirt Pink. Dab with a finger. The following techniques used for shading are sideloading, pre-wetting (moistening), and back-to- back floating.
