FUR PAINTING TECHNIQUE
The key to achieving long fur strokes that you can layer is to dilute your paint. I usually use wa- ter for diluting; however, if the weather is warm, you can add a few drops of DecoArt Americana Drying Time Extender. To paint the fur, load the wisp brush with water and dilute the color on a wet palette. Lightly remove excess color on a wet paper towel. Lay the brush firmly on the wet pal- ette. Hesitate to allow the brush to open like a fan, then pull the brush making the first stroke on the palette; work on the surface. Don’t overdo each layer of fur; you want to retain the shades that are underneath the fur.
