56 The Decorative Painter • ISSUE NO. 2, 2015
Ilove simple flowers such as daises, as do my teddy bears! This project features my fur painting technique of using lay- ers of colors. As I always say to my students, take the time to define the values, tones, lights, and shadows when choosing
and mixing colors. And always love your project while paint- ing it—the result will impress you.
PREPARATION
Lightly sand the surface and wipe clean with a soft cloth. Ap- ply DecoArt Multi-Purpose Sealer. Let dry. Sand and wipe clean again. Basecoat with two coats of Winter Blue using a sponge roller. Sand and wipe clean again. Dab a sea sponge into thinned Desert Turquoise and apply over 70 percent of the surface. Let dry. Lightly sand and wipe clean. Trace and transfer the design without the arrows.
LET’S PAINT
