dry-brush shading of Claret Rose on thorax next to the head and tail next to the thorax.
Darken shading on wings with Claret Rose strokes that are shorter than the Rose Pink strokes. Highlight bottom ends of body sections and top of head with small strokes of Rose Pink. The tips of the antennae and the Moss Green strokes on the wing tips are highlighted on the ends with a stroke of Naples Yellow.
TULIP A
Basecoat petals with Rose Pink. Pull long comma- strokes from tips of petals toward the base with Light Pink Mix. Shade petals from base with Geranium strokes and then darken with Claret Rose. These petals are highlighted
Light Pink Mix: Rose Pink+Titanium White (1:1) Light Green Mix: Moss Green+Naples Yellow (1:1)
LET’S PAINT
BUTTERFLY
Basecoat wings with Light Pink Mix. Pull long comma- strokes on top side of wings from the tips toward body with no. 4 liner brush and Rose Pink. Dry-brush a highlight on this stroke with Light Pink Mix from tip toward body. An- tennae and accent line on wing tips are Moss Green. Begin shading wings with curved Rose Pink strokes that begin where the wings are attached to the body, curving them and making them different lengths. Body is Geranium with a
