Giving a keepsake ornament during the Christmas season is a long-standing tradition in my fam- ily. It is so much fun to pick out or create our own orna-
ment, wrap it in a beautiful holiday package, and give it as a meaningful keepsake. These ornaments are hung year after year, joyfully reminding us of Christmases past.
PAINTING TIPS
To prepare a brush for floating on shades and highlights, put a few drops of DecoArt Easy Float in the water basin. Wet the painting surface with a large flat brush before floating. After the float is applied, use a mop brush to soften the float. Keeping the surface wet will while floating color.
As you paint, periodically evaluate the piece. Adjust col- ors and values as necessary, until the desired look is achieved. Turning the piece upside down as you evaluate will ensure that your eye focuses on the colors rather than the picture.
Scrumble means to twist and turn the tip of an angular or round brush in various directions.
