S-SHAPED POINTED COMMA-STROKE
STEP 1
With the handle pointed back, slightly toward the direction in which you are pulling the stroke, draw in the point with no pressure. Then begin to gradually apply pressure.
STEP 2
Continue to pull in a curved path while gradu- ally applying pressure.
STEP 5
Slide on the chisel to complete the tail and then sweep the bristle tip off the surface.
STEP 3
Reverse direction to form the S shape while regu- lating the pressure applied. Begin to gradually release pressure when you are past the midpoint.
STEP 6
Use the no. 5/0 liner loaded in the tipping color to extend the blunt tip at the beginning into a sharper point, if needed.
STEP 4
Continue to pull in the S shape and note how the brush tip is forming a chisel.
