FLOWER POT
Float the shade with Burnt Umber. Shade a smaller area by floating a mix of Burnt Umber+Midnight (1:1). Dry-brush a highlight of Warm White.
FLOWERS
STEP 1: Shade with Turners Yellow floats. Dry.
STEP 2: Shade again with Raw Sienna. Dry.
STEP 3: Float Alizarin Crimson around the flower centers and pull out lines using the chisel edge of your brush. Dry. STEP 4: Dry-brush highlights with Warm White.
STEP 5: Shade the bottom of flower centers with Hauser Green Dark. Dry.
STEP 6: Using a liner, dab on Yellow Citron pollen shapes. Dab again with a mix of Titanium White and Yellow Citron for the highlights.
STEP 7: For the berries, follow steps 1, 2, and 3.
APPLES
Use a liner brush to paint lines of Medium Yellow fol- lowing the contour of the apple shape.
Paint on Alizarin Crimson lines. Dry.
GREEN APPLES
Shade with Wrought Iron floats. Let dry and wash over with Sap Green. Dry. Dry-brush highlights with Yel- low Light.
RED APPLE
Shade with Burgundy floats. Dry.
Wash over with Alizarin Crimson. While wet, pull washes in the highlight areas with a clean brush. Dry.
Dry-brush highlights with Titanium White.
LEAVES
Shade dark leaves with Wrought Iron floats, and high- light with a dry-brush of Hauser Green Light. Dry-brush again with Medium Yellow.
Shade medium leaves with Olive Green floats. Dry. Shade again with Wrought Iron floats. Let dry. Float high- light with Hauser Green Light. Dry. Dry-brush final high- lights with Medium Yellow.
Shade light leaves with Hauser Green Dark floats. Dry. Shade again with floats of Olive Green. Titanium White (1:1). Highlight with Yellow Citron floats and dry. Dry-brush final highlights with a mix of Yellow Citron+Titanium White (1:1).
Tint leaves with a dry-brush of Alizarin Crimson, mostly in dark areas.
RIBBON AND BERRIES
Refer to the Step-by-Steps on pages 53 and 54. Un- dercoat with Warm White and Burgundy. Dry. Basecoat over the Warm White with Hot Pink. Shade with Alizarin Crimson floats. Dry. Shade darkest areas with floats of Burgundy with a touch of Alizarin Crimson+Midnight (1:1). Dry.
Dry-brush highlights with a mix of Hot Pink+Titanium White (1:1). Paint berries like the ribbon.
STICKS AND STEMS
Paint over with Asphaltum. Dry. Float shade with Burnt Umber. Dry.
