Penn’s Woods Painters (PWP) 1987–1992, Mountaineer Decorative Artists (MDA) 1992–1999, Country Roads Decorative Artists (CRDA) 1993–1999, Golden Triangle Decorative Painters (GTDP) 1993–1995, Alamo Decorative Artists (ADA) 2002–2013, and Heart of Texas Tolers (HOTT) 1999–2000 and 2008–2013. What are your specific qualifications for this position?
I will complete my second year on the SDP Board at the close of the Conference in May 2014. Currently I own and operate a painting studio and teach on a regular basis. I was employed as a supervisory administrative specialist in federal law enforcement, have owned
two decorative painting businesses, and served on multiple executive boards for painting and community organizations for over thirty years.
List any additional information that may provide support for your qualifications for this position.
Leadership, time management, and communication skills practiced in my employment, self-employment, and community positions have prepared me for the demands of this office.
What are your goals and vision for the society?
I believe it is essential to grow and maintain membership. We need to be creative in developing programs to be attractive to a larger market. It is important to become more recognized and respected in all art, hobby, and educational venues, while honoring our faithful members. To accomplish this, we must be adaptable to new and innovative ideas. My role as a board member is to be a voice and face
for the membership. It is important to know what is happening, to make decisions based on the desires of the membership, and to stand up for what is best for them and SDP, even when it is not the popular or easy choice.

I have attended SDP Conferences and donated to the 2013 program to support the International Museum of the Society of Decorative Painters.
Chapter involvement:
I am actively involved in the Alamo Decorative Artists, having served as president, treasurer (1999–2000, 2008–2009, and 2011–2012), chair of the Ways & Means Committee, Christmas party chair, and hospitality chair.
What are your specific qualifications for this position?
I have worked for over forty years in general accounting and payroll. I am the senior accountant of a family firm since 1978, working with accounts payable, accounts receivable, general ledger, and payroll.
List any additional information that may provide support for your qualifications for this position.
I work on a number of SDP, community, and church
projects including a Memory Box program, Wounded Warrior program, Volunteer Fire Department Women’s Auxiliary, and the SAMM Ministries.
What are your goals and vision for the society?
I believe it is important that SDP work toward increasing membership. In terms of accounting, I am very keen on efficiency and productivity.

I have taught at several SDP Conferences and have been a vendor at many of the Expos. I was Class Chair at the 1980 SDP Conference. As an MDA, I have also acted as judge for Certification on a number of occasions.
Chapter involvement:
I am a founding member of Rocky Mountain Hi Chapter, established in 1975. I have acted as president in 1976–77, 1995, 2012, and 2013. And I am vice president for 2014.
