While I was working at my scroll saw cutting shape after shape, this bunny and baskets de- sign just popped into my head. So I dusted myself off and
went inside to work out the complete design. It took me a while, but the design just fell into place. I think it turned out cute, and I hope you enjoy painting it.
PREPARATION
No preparation is needed for the surface because the wood is birch plywood, which is dry. Transfer the outline de- sign for the bunnies, baskets, and eggs.
Using the brush you are most comfortable with, basecoat the center of the plate up to the rim with Hauser Dark Green. Allow to dry. Using a slightly damp sea sponge with Hauser Dark Green and Hauser Medium Green, pounce the center of the plate, letting the colors bleed a little into each other for a lacy or faux-finish look.
Basecoat the bunnies with Grey Sky. Basecoat the bas- kets with Marigold. Basecoat the Easter eggs with Poodleskirt Pink, Country Blue, and Purple Cow. Allow to dry.
Sand lightly with a sanding pad and transfer the detailed design for the baskets, bunnies, legs, noses, ears, and eggs.
