FINISHING
Before the painting dries, clean up any paint smudges or messy edges that appear in the background.
If cobalt siccative was used allow the piece to dry for approximately a week and a half. If cobalt siccative was not used allow it to dry for an entire month.
When the piece is dry to the touch, carefully remove any remaining graphite lines with thinner. Wipe the piece
with a clean, damp cloth to remove any dust or thinner haze, especially if the piece is painted on a dark back- ground. Allow this to dry thoroughly.
When the piece is completely clean and dry, spray it with Krylon Spray Satin Varnish, according to the manu- facturer’s instructions. Allow this to dry completely. A second coat is optional, but observe the manufacturer’s instructions in regard to applying multiple coats.
