STEP-BY-STEPS
LEAVES (Green)
Step 1: Basecoat the leaves using the #10 flat brush.
Add the veins using the #0 liner brush. The veins of the two
colors are placed next to each other.
Apply the Light and Dark Values.
Step 2: Place the Dark Value using the sideloaded 3/8" angular brush. Place the Dark Value on the stem side of the leaf. Place the Light Value on the tip side of the leaf using the 3/8" angular brush.

Move the mop brush along the left and right veins extending from the center to soften.
Step 3: Add the jagged part of the leaf using the liner brush with the Light Value.
Add the Low Dark Value thinly along the left and right veins using the sideloaded 3/16" angular brush.
Add the Shade to the shadow created by the yellow rose. Add the Highlight Value using the #2 round brush. Add Burnt Sienna accents near the tip of the leaf. Add Cadmium Yellow to the light areas. Add a little Tint in the lower right areas.
LEAVES (GREEN)
LEAVES (Brown)
Step 1: Basecoat the leaves using the 3/16" angular brush. Add the veins using the #0 liner brush. The veins of two colors are placed next to each other. Apply the Light and Dark Values.
Step 2: Place the Dark and Light Values using the sideloaded 3/16" angular brush.
Step 3: Add jagged parts of the leaves using the #0 liner brush with the Light Value. If the jagged colors are too bright, apply Burnt Umber diluted with water.
Add Country Red near the tip of the leaf. Add Cadmium Yellow to the light areas.

Step 1: Basecoat each element in the specified color using the 3/16" angular brush or the #2 round brush.
Step 2: Place the Dark and Light Values using the sideloaded 3/16" angular brush. See WET-INTO-WET TECHNIQUES for instructions.
Step 3: Add the Highlight and Low Dark Values to the rosebuds and the calyx. Add jagged parts of the calyx using the liner brush with the Highlight Value. If the jagged colors are too bright, apply Burnt Umber diluted with water. Add Burnt Sienna in the dark part of the calyx and the stems. Add a little Tint in the lower right areas.
