The borders along the top edge of the box are basecoated with Lamp (Ebony) Black. Using the #12 flat brush, place long, consistent strokes of Extreme Sheen 24K Gold to cover but allow a small amount of Lamp (Ebony) Black to show through.
FINISHING
Preserve your beautifully painted box by giving it a good coat or two of DuraClear Gloss Varnish. Varnish the feet, and use a good wood glue to attach the feet to the bottom corners of the box.

Gigi Wright-Shattler has been creating art most of her life. As a child growing up in Scottsdale, Ariz., she took classes at museums, from her mother, and all through her school years. She earned a BA degree in Fine Arts at Colorado Women’s College, Denver, Colo., and has been featured in many national magazines including The Decorative Painter (2013, 2016, 2018 and 2020) and the Japanese Decorative Painter 2015. She has taught classes at conventions and for SDP chapters, and she recently moved to Sevierville, Tenn., where she resides with her husband, Ron, and teaches in her new Gigitales Art Studio. Gigi joined the SDP in 1988 and was a past president of the Rocky Top Decorative Painters chapter as well as holding other board
