   BALL FEET
To begin painting the feet, I put a Q-tip into the small hole of each wood knob to hold the knob to paint and dry it. The top half is basecoated with Lamp (Ebony) Black, and the bottom half is Snow (Titanium) White.
Using the Extreme Sheen 24K Gold, place color directly over Lamp (Ebony) Black with even, gentle strokes allowing some Lamp (Ebony) Black to show through. When dry, use the #4 short flat brush on the bottom Snow (Titanium) White area of each foot to apply small checks in Lamp (Ebony) Black starting at the mid section and working toward the bottom of the ball. Finally, place dots of Royal Fuchsia around the midsection to separate top and bottom.
The borders along the outside of the box are basecoated with Snow (Titanium) White and are checked with strokes of Lamp (Ebony) Black using the #8 short flat brush. Start at one end and work every other stroke in Lamp (Ebony) Black, making a checked pattern. The space between strokes is as wide as the brush. Gently place the stroke on the surface. Do not squash down this stroke.
