NOVEMBER
BREAKFAST BRUNCH
FOR A CAUSE
Tole Painters of the Western Reserve – Northfield, Ohio
Tole Painters of the Western Reserve in Northfield, Ohio hosted their first-ever basket brunch in November. Chapter members created and donated theme
baskets around a hand-crafted item, which were
then raffled off
after the brunch.
A portion of the
proceeds benefited
the Emergency
Assistance Center
in Northfield,
which provides
food for those in
need in the area.
A FOREVER ARRANGEMENT
Anne Belezecky, a SDP member of the Lehigh Valley Decorative Painters Chapter from Allentown, Pennsylvania, had a life-changing accident last May. She was hit by another driver and has had to have many operations. Recently Anne was released to go home for therapy. She was very lucky to have survived.
Her friends of the Lehigh Valley Decorative Painters Chapter wanted to do something for her, and after brainstorming many ideas they decided to make her a flower bouquet that would last forever. They had slate pieces from a local slate quarry that were left over from a community project they had done; they decided to cut up the slate into 2" x 3" pieces and paint flowers on each piece of slate. Each Chapter member
wrote a note of encouragement and signed the back of the flowers.
In October, the group presented the painted flowers to Anne. A wire tree form was donated by one of the members and the slate pieces were placed on the tree as a “Forever Arrangement.” Anne was so thankful to receive the bouquet.
This Forever Bouquet made an unusual arrangement for decorative painters, something quite unusual!! Our Chapter had so much fun painting these for Anne!
