14 The Decorative Painter • ISSUE NO. 4, 2015
 PILGRIM PRUDENCE AND TURKEY
 PREPARATION
PRUDENCE
Use the pattern as a guide to carefully cut the following pieces from the white felt: two collar pieces, two cuff pieces, and one bon- net. Then cut one 12-inch piece of black cord for the bow, and one 18-inch piece of off-white thin ribbon. Set aside the costume pieces for later.
TURKEY
Cut one 11-inch piece of braided macramé cord to wind around the turkey. Cut one six-inch piece of twisted macramé cord to wind around the turkey hat. To prevent fraying on the cords, apply hot glue to each of the ends. When the glue cools down, but is still pli- able, pinch the ends to make them smaller. For the hat top, hat- band, hat brim, beak, waddle, buckle, and wings, use the pattern as a guide to cut all the pieces from the black craft foam. Set aside the costume pieces for later.
