HIGH HONORS FOR
PAMELA GASSMAN
In June 2016 our very
own Pam Gassman of
Tacoma, Wash., received
the high honor of First
in the Nation in the Fine
Arts Category for the
Daughters of the American
Revolution. Receiving her
award at the Continental
Congress was quite the honor! Pam’s submission was an original colored pencil design, “In Contemplation of Her Stitches.” As if that was not enough, she also won the Evelyn Cole Peters Award for Art Excellence!
Utilizing her love of art and history, her creation is nothing less than stunning! As a member of the Pacific Pal- Ettes in Tacoma, Pam has often gone above and beyond in her enthusiasm and sharing of her talents. And this was not her first nationally recognized piece. In 2010, Pam was the recipient of the DAR’s First Place in the Nation award for her acrylic painting, “The Milliner.”
You will find Pam in Tacoma spending her time with her husband of 31 years and their four children, Sarah, Rachel, Hannah and Benjamin, when she is not at her art table fast at work with muse or teaching classes. Her ability to take what the eye can see and transfer it to canvas is simply remarkable. She often submits to teach at the Northwest Decorative Artists Convention in Seattle, and has classes weekly near her home.
We at the Pacific Pal-Ettes would like to tip our hat to Pam as we applaud her achievements and learn from
her gifts of art and knowledge!
