 DARK MEDIUM BASE
See color mixing chart:
Dark Shading Mix: Cadmium Red Hue+Ultramarine Blue+Primary Yellow Medium Shading Mix: Titanium White+Dark Shading Mix
Basecoat Mix: Titanium White+Medium Shading Mix
Highlight Mix: Titanium White+Basecoat Mix
Titanium White alone for strongest highlights.
Basecoat face with Basecoat Mix. While moist, apply Medium Shading Mix to shaded areas. Continue and layer darkest areas with Dark Shading Mix, layering shadows from lightest to darkest while moist. Blend until you achieve a soft appearance. Dry.
Repeat steps if necessary.
Apply washes of Cadmium Red Hue to cheeks, nose and forehead.
Highlight lighter areas with Highlight Mix to all areas of the face, including nose.
Apply strongest highlights with Titanium White.
Add Carbon Black+Burnt Umber (1:1) to nostrils and mouth opening.
EYES
Line eyes and basecoat the iris using Burnt Umber. Highlight eyelids with Highlight Mix. Add Titan Buff to white areas of the eye. Add Carbon Black for the pupil. Dry. Shade with a brush-mix of Burnt Umber+Carbon Black to upper areas of pupil. Add a dot of Raw Sienna to the iris and highlight with Titanium White while moist. Apply Dark Shading Mix above eyelid and emphasize wrinkles with same.
HIGHLIGHT STEP 1

FACE

 GLASSES
Basecoat glasses with Primary Yellow. Shade with a brush-mix of Raw Sienna+Titanium White. Shade darkest areas and line with Burnt Umber. Add a small amount of Burnt Umber inside, under and around glasses. See photo. Highlight lens with streaks of Titanium White.
FUR AND HAIR
Loosely apply hair and fur with a wash of Titan Buff, covering up some of the wrapping paper, making it wider and fuller. Shade hair with Burnt Umber. Add whispy lines within hair with a brush-mix of Burnt Umber+Dark Grey.
STEP 3
 Shade fur with Dark Grey. Highlight both hair and fur with Titanium White.
