 STEP 5
French Grey 50% under both heads, then between them with Cool Grey 50%.
Apply sharpened White over the water drops and
eye lights. Look over your piece to make sure you are pleased with the overall blending and sharpness. Apply Verithin Black to underline eye folds, soften with French Grey 50%, then French Grey 10%.
FINISHING
Burnish the entire piece with the Colorless Blender, cleaning the tip before transitioning between colors. Rub all over with the pad of your middle finger very hard to remove stroke marks. Dust and on a hot
dry day, use the Krylon Fixative Spray to spray a couple of very light coats in a sweeping motion. Allow to
dry completely.
Congratulations! You did it. They are adorable, and you have your own reward!
 STEP 6 & 7
Andrea “Andie” Scott adp lives in Lakeland, Fla., where she paints and finds inspiration from nature. At age 11, she was handed a paintbrush by her mother and has loved painting ever since. Like in many parts of our lives, things become more and less important, but painting is a constant. In 2005, Andie found inspiration in Sherry C. Nelson’s “Flowers A-Z” book, which led her
to join The Society of Decorative Painters and attend her first convention. Since then, she has been active in several chapters, has traveled, and painted with many wonderfully talented artists, including Sherry. She has become proficient in oils, acrylics and colored pencils, achieving the Accredited Decorative Painter in 2018. Colored pencil, like oil painting, is extremely versatile, and can be combined with many other mediums, so it’s a natural fit.
Over the years she has taught painting classes to all ages, been commissioned to do murals, portraits, hand- painted pieces for a Florida restaurant chain, participated in and organized art shows, is active at her local SDP chapters, and through SDP connections has had Christmas ornaments at both The Smithsonian’s Renwick Museum and at The Library of Congress.
Andrea loves to share her love of nature and painting with others, and continues to pursue her dream of painting full time.
