GREEN LEAVES
Basecoat geen leaves with Thicket. Float shading of Hauser Dark Green at the base of each leaf. Let dry and use the same color, float to form the center vein. (Note: some smaller leaves will not have a center vein.)
Float a light value of Aloe in the center vein area opposite the dark side. Float Aloe at the tips of the smaller green leaves. The stems are Thicket painted with a liner. Darken them a bit with Hauser Dark Green as they run behind a petal.
Float a tint of Poetic Plum on a few of the larger leaves, placing it in a mid-value area of the leaf. To apply, dampen the leaf with clean water, float the Poetic Plum and soften with a mop.

   RED SHADOW LEAVES
RED SHADOW LEAVES
Paint red leaves with one coat of Vivid Violet with a small angle or round brush. They won’t be solid and that’s okay. You will be able to see some of the background showing. With a liner and Vivid Violet, paint the stems and give some slightly larger leaves a bit of a center vein.
YELLOW FILLER FLOWERS
Using the small filbert, stroke the petals with Marigold. Just one coat (you will see a little background showing). They don’t need to be too bright as they are filler flowers and shouldn’t command too much attention. Add a center dot of Light Cinnamon.
FINISHING
Let dry thoroughly and varnish as desired. I used Americana Decor Light Satin (brush-on) Varnish.
