Brushes: When painting Roses roses, it is necessary that your brushes be in excellent condition. Brushes are very personal. Some people work with smaller, and some are more comfortable with larger brushes. Choose a brush size that is comfortable for you as it relates to the size of what you are painting.
PREPARATION
Lightly sand the surface and wipe with a soft rag to remove the dust.
Step 1: Paint the lid with Sap Green or Hauser Green Dark. Trim with Black and Treasure Gold.
Step 2: I used 1/4" painter’s tape to create the stripes. (Photo) Step 3: Lightly seal with the FolkArt Clearcote Acrylic
Sealer, let dry. Sand ever so lightly.
Step 4: Neatly trace and transfer the design.
Step 5: Load a large flat brush with a little water or Plaid FolkArt Floating Medium and Prussian Blue. Blend on the palette to soften your color. Apply this as desired around the design. Gently blend with your finger or a sponge. Darken at the corners as desired with Prussian Blue or Black.
Tip: Use a little Blending Gel to help blend if needed.
I almost always use a little Blending Gel to help make the background beautiful. Study this on the box lid and sides.
