PAINTING TIPS
n Chalk paint is used as a primer for this set as it en- sures excellent adhesion to a metal surface.
n Use appropriate sized brushes unless otherwise not- ed. Before using the mop brush, gently tap bristles up and down on the sticky side of painter’s tape to remove dust and loose hairs.
n Spraying completed areas with Krylon Workable Fixative seals the work, plus allows more paint to be added over top and makes mistakes easier to remove.
n Hand sanitizer can be used to gently remove mis- takes that have dried.
n Resting the tray and teapot on a padded surface (i.e. old cushion or towel) may help stabilize the pieces and keep them from becoming marred as you work.
n Make a tracing of the holly pattern or use the pat- tern as a guide to freehand the design.
n If your pieces do not have defined sections, use painter’s tape to mask off sections as needed for contrasting patterns.
