ACRYLIC
True Red with drying time between applications. Lightly dip the tip of the dome brush into Baby Pink and rub most of it off on the paper towel. Carefully swirl the paintbrush on the flower giv- ing just a hint of pink. Using the liner brush, outline the flower with Napa Red (thinned with a small amount of water) using a wavy stroke, continuing inward toward the center.
HOLLY LEAVES
Refer to the Step-by-Step on page 29.
Using the no. 8 flat, apply a basecoat to the leaves with a light coat of Hauser Medium Green to avoid ridges. After drying for a few minutes, give the leaves one more coat of Hauser Medium Green. Next, double load the no. 8 flat with Hauser Medium Green and Hauser Dark Green. Shade the bottom of each holly leaf with the Hauser Dark Green. When dry, double load the no. 8 flat with Bright Yellow and Hauser Medium Green. With the yellow on the top, highlight the top of each leaf. Using the liner brush, paint the stem and vein of each leaf with thinned Hauser Dark Green and add the outlining.
HOLLY BERRIES
Refer to the Step-by-Step on page 29.
Using the stylus, dot the berries True Red and add a tiny drop of White on the upper left side.
FINISHING
Refer to step seven the Step-by-Step on page 29.
Using the liner brush and thinned Glorious Gold, add a few streaks coming out from behind the flower. Follow the manufac- turer’s instructions for drying and curing time.

Priscilla Hauser, and is certified in both of
their techniques. Vicki is a DecoArt Helping
