During these last few years, I have been trying to find a different way to paint my teddies, es- pecially on dark backgrounds. I found the gri- saille technique interesting. By using dark sur-
faces, I realized that the shadows are the background. The only thing I needed to work with were lights, which offered the opportunity to concentrate on the shape of the teddy bear with a range of white values. I hope you get all warm and fuzzy creating and learning from this project, just like I did!
