SNOUT
Paint the lower part of mouth with Terra Cotta+Snow (Titanium) White. Use this mix to outline the nostrils, leaving the holes black. Leave a black line for mouth. Con- tinue with Terra Cotta+Antique White and paint rest of the snout. When approaching the upper part, pick up some Bleached Sand to help blend into face. This also creates a highlight there. (See Step-by-Step on page 33.)
LEAVES
Use the flat brush to paint a chisel edge line down cen- ter. Then using the broad part of brush, pull colors toward that line. Stagger the length of strokes and colors. First use Hauser Light Green, then Margarita. (See Step-by-Step on page 33.)

Suzanne Mikulka joined the Society of Decorative Painters when she began painting in Connecticut back in 1987. After moving to Florida, she joined two chapters, Decorative Artists of Southwest Florida and Naples Decorative Artists, and continued to teach and share her talents. She loves the enthusiasm of all the painters in Florida and welcomes the opportunities to travel and meet new ones. Suzanne’s retirement (never!) is a dream come true!
