 PREPARATION
Spicy Mustard: flagpole
Uniform Blue: square on flag, Annie’s dress, letters “E” and “C”
Warm Beige: Annie’s face and arms
Zinc: tap on a medium wash with no. 4 filbert on Sadie, making the edges and surface bumpy rather than smooth
AMERICANA ANNIE
Shade at the top of the forehead, at the chin and under the chin with Warm Beige. Also shade with the same where the arms meet the dress, to separate the thumb and hand, on the back and under edge of the arms. Add the smile and eyes with Lamp (Ebony) Black. Highlight with Warm White on the eyes and the center of the face. Add a triangle nose with Burgundy Wine and your liner brush. Dip the dirty brush in Bright Salmon and touch a few highlights to strengthen the look of the nose being stitched on. The lips use the same colors – three Burgundy Wine dip dots, two on the top and one underneath, touched with a bit of Bright
The MDF surface from Valhalla Laser Designs does not require sealing. If you decide that you would like to seal to prepare your surface you can mix your basecoat color Burlap+DecoArt Multi-Purpose Sealer (1:1). Sand lightly and apply a second coat of Burlap. Shade around the entire panel and main elements with Burnt Umber using an oval wash brush. Please use caution basecoat- ing the areas of the sliders that fit into the base. Too much paint will make it difficult for the pieces to fit.

Burgundy Wine: letters “A” (2), “R”, buttons on apron, stroked on hair (no. 1 round)
