VERY IMPORTANT: When stenciling, work very dry. Fully load the brush but then remove most of it on a paper towel, or I prefer a terry cloth when removing the paint. The “1812 paris” stencil is placed on the watering can and the “Cafe de Paris” stencil is centered, place it half on, half off the tissue paper. The fleur de lis and script stencils are placed randomly around the board. Refer to the photo on page 48 or choose your own placement.
ANTIQUING
Using the stencil brush with very little Burnt Umber on it, dry-brush in from the edges and down the sides.
VARNISHING
Use several coats of DecoArt Dura-Clear Soft Touch Varnish to coat the design.
Design is 50% of original. Enlarge 200% for actual size.

Beth Wagner has had a lifelong love of art and design. She is a graduate of the Fashion Institute of
Technology in New York City and worked for many years as a fashion illustrator. She began giving painting
lessons in retail stores such as Creativity and Michaels. Beth soon expanded to giving lessons in her home
studio, while creating original designs. She also owned and operated a mural and furniture painting busi-
ness specializing in residential and commercial work. Beth has been published in various magazines, online
publications and books. She presently teaches locally and travels to chapters and conventions regularly. She
has been a member of SDP since 1998 and is a member of two chapters in Long Island, Decorative Artists
