Page 48 - The Decorative Painter Spring 2017
P. 48
Basket Step-by-Step on page 43 and techniques described for the pansies. I painted the horizontal reeds first then turned my piece to paint the vertical reeds. Tint the reeds with the pansy and leaf colors.
Anchor your painting by brushing all the colors used under your basket.
CRITIQUE
Study your painting. If any areas are lacking, you can carefully apply more paint. Load your brush as described
in Step 1 on page 45, but when applying to areas only touch it enough for a little paint to come off, wipe your brush and stretch the paint gently out. Do not lose the medium and light value areas.
FINISHING
Clean your brushes with Liberty Odorless Brush Cleaner. After your painting is thoroughly dry, apply several light coats of DecoArt Matte Sealer/Finisher.
