As my daughter, Chelsey, and I brainstormed décor for her
December wedding, we considered many theme and motif ideas.
Swans seemed appropriate to represent her graceful and elegant style,
especially since all six species of swan mate for life, becoming a symbol of
undying love. Magnolias were a perfect pairing to achieve the sophisticated
color scheme she wanted. Several of the reception tables enjoyed this large wood-
en painted decoy swan as a centerpiece while others had a pair of hand-blown glass
swans facing with their necks together, creating a heart shape. I expressed my love for my daughter by painting these swans for her wedding, just as many of you use your painting skills on behalf of your loved ones. Love was certainly in the air that night.
