“Collin, to this day, still talks about how he is so glad that he was able to choose this family to marry into,” said Makenzie. “Collin is my grandmother’s favorite grandchild.”
With such a strong support system, secure jobs and a passion for Oconee County, the newlyweds have no reason to leave. Both Collin and Makenzie plan to stay involved in the community—Collin as a deputy sheriff for the county and Makenzie as a volunteer first responder in Watkinsville.
After nursing school, Makenzie intends to acquire her license to become a support driver. After a childhood full of fire truck rides, it is only fitting that Makenzie get licensed to be the one driving.
