Mary Kathryn Rozar snaps a photo during an Oconee County High School girls basketball game.
Bright and Rozar have fun covering sports, but it has also been a learning experience. Rozar gained all of her photography skills on the fly. Her social media prowess increased as part of her work, too.
The first time Bright used his camera, all he produced was a black screen. Kriebel helped him realize that he had not properly attached the lens. They took the learning curves in stride.
“I really can’t emphasize enough their hard work, determination and professionalism,” Kriebel said. “These two are mature beyond their years.”
Bright is serious about turning his hobby into a career.
“I want to study journalism and emerging media; videography falls underneath that,” Bright said. “It’s been a ton of fun to be able to do this and gain some experience. It’s been a great starting point and a good foundation.”
Rozar also aims to extend her journey in sports communications.
