Elementary student sews
pillows as a business

All it took was a Singer sewing machine and a little ingenuity for 9-year-old Owen Campagna’s creativity to flourish.
The precocious Oconee County Elementary School rising fourth grader has used his sewing machine to make a variety of things for his own business, Owen’s Creative Creations.
Owen has been honing his sewing skills for two years through workshops and camps at Bogart’s Sew Sew Studio.
“There was this time where you could sew banners, and I really liked it, so I took sewing camp,” said Owen.
The sewing machine was a Christmas present. At the end of January 2021, he began making pillows for his cat and family members. He even crafted tooth fairy pillows that had color-coordinated pockets and patterns depicting everything from galaxies and rainbows to sports icons.
