Every organization and every employee to manager relationship is going to be different, but our research shows that the majority of employees (80.64 percent) believe the responsibility of professional development should be shared between the employee and the manager.
Of the remaining surveyed employees, 17.26 percent said it was the employee’s responsibility, and only 2.1 percent of employees thought the responsibility rested solely with their manager.
