Other Content Preference Differences by Demographics
The study also revealed some interesting differences with regards to age, position, and education level.
• Employees ages 45-65 were more likely than other age groups to choose technology as their most preferred training content. In fact, 23.51 percent of employees in this age group chose technology training, compared to only 17.42 percent of all other employees. This finding dispels the myth that older employees are stuck in their ways and push back against learning new technology.
• More managers (26.15 percent) chose people skills than any other position type. Executives followed them at 23.33 percent. No surprises here, as people in these roles face more people interactions and challenges in managing people.
• Employees with a degree were twice as likely to desire even more educational training via academic learning than employees without a degree.
