                       MESSAGE FROM THE

                       CHIEF EXECUTIVE

                       Pete Coldwell

It is my pleasure to present the annual report for the year ended December 31,
                       2022.

Despite the challenges of the past year, I am pleased to report that the Chamber
has continued to grow and expand our offerings to better serve our members and
                       the broader community.

Our Office Hub has seen a resurgence in use, with an increase in members utilising
the hot desks and meeting rooms. We have also added new events, courses, and
services to our business-as-usual model, and have worked closely with various
                       organisations to strengthen our region.

In terms of revenue streams, the training courses have continued to grow, and we
will continue to focus on targeted courses to meet the specific needs of our
members. Although our membership numbers have improved, growth in this area
remains slower than budgeted, and will be a key focus for the team in the coming
                       quarter.

We have also increased our media profile, with more exposure in various outlets,
including RNZ, Newshub, the Marlborough Express, and a regular monthly op-ed
                       in the Marlborough Weekly.

In addition, we have launched the Young Chamber and Tech Meet Ups, providing
networking opportunities for younger members and tech professionals,
respectively. We will also be running the MBIE-funded Digital Boost Programme,
which focuses on increasing the digital capabilities of small and medium
                       enterprises.

Looking ahead, we are in the process of conducting a feasibility study for the
ASPIRE Marlborough conference, which will be held in conjunction with the
Nelson Tasman Chamber of Commerce. We are also working to secure
sponsorship from various organisations to support this and other Chamber
                       initiatives.

I would like to thank our dedicated team and all of our members and partners for
their support and contributions to the Chamber. We are excited about the growth
and opportunities ahead, and remain committed to serving and supporting the
                       business community.

                       Ngā mihi,
                                 Pete

                                                                                                      Page 01
