3. Intestinal Disorders
a. Diarrhea is the injection of germs into the colon which causes feces to
come out too quickly with a watery stool texture. Diarrhea can also be
accompanied by abdominal pain, nausea, to the presence of blood in the
stool. The causes of diarrhea are very diverse, including consumption of
food that has been contaminated with bacteria or parasites, side effects of
drugs (such as antibiotics), to medical procedures (such as surgery on the
stomach area).
b. Constipation occurs when a person has bowel movements less than three
times per week with a hard stool texture. This indigestion can occur due to
many things, such as not drinking enough water and consuming fibrous
foods, to the influence of drugs (such as antacids or non-steroidal anti-
inflammatory drugs).
