Chairman’s mess age...
T
he Global Pandemic has cast shadows on all
sports in general and Cricket in particular.
Millions of fans around the world were heart
broken when the T20 World Cup stood cancelled. The
zeal of cricket lovers had to face many dampeners
throughout the year. Many players striving towards
prominence also faced a set back and young talents
remained unexplored.
Yet MCC need to persevere. We must not only keep
our faith in playing cricket adhering to the new normal
but also instill the confidence in all sports lovers. We
will rise above the hitches. We are defi nitely looking
forward to ushering in a fresh season of good matches
being played and receiving good cheer from the fans!
We will see new a normal in our lives as we enter a new era of living, travelling and playing. This,
however, should not hamper the way forward. Rather, like good sportsmen, we will take the
hurdles in our stride and shine in the pursuit of excellence on and off fi eld.
Mariner’s need to be strong, disciplined and try to help each other. We must never lose hope or let
our supporters go bleak. This one year has refurbished our belief in the importance of cricket to us,
as a game and as a community outreach. Keeping the banners of hope flying high, here’s wishing
a great year ahead of us, a year for us to rise and shine.
