VOICE
OF
PAIN Capt. Roy has sailed out at sea for
more than 18 years and sailed as
a Commanding Officer on board
VLGC Tankers. He is presently
working as a Marine Manager
with a reputed Shipping fi rm in
Singapore.
his is the voice of pain whispering through dark shadows of the
faraway lands. In the scathed terrain of the desert storm you
T will hear me weeping in silence in despairing eff ort to soothe the
sore of the departed ones. When scorch of the noon parches my spirit, a
glimpse of smile seems like a mirage on my psyche. In my arms open wide,
have fallen the spirits of my brothers fighting in the veil of patriotism and
modernity, their souls melting in my heart. I have embraced their pain
with a quietened sulk and breathed out noise in return. When stillness of
the dusk laments on the dunes, you will hear my voice – the voice of pain
echoing from the shadows of nowhere.
