The activities chosen by the groups represent the various interests of the cross-section of the school community. The
varied activities allowed for the display of diverse competencies, abilities and skill sets. Within each group effective
communication skills were deployed, immense creativity was displayed, a lot of ideas were products of critical thinking
and collaboration birthed a synergy that gave rise to exciting products.
A lot of progress was made by all the groups in the first & early part of the second term in the 2019/2020 school year. Due to
the sheer volume of work needed time had to be created within the timetable to allow the all groups to deliberate,
strategize and work on the various projects. The pressure produced was positive as it kept all the groups on course and
conscious of timelines.
Unfortunately, the whole world shut down in March 2021 due to the global pandemic caused by COVID 19. Although a
number of schools were able to continue lessons online (CKA included) the feasibility of continuing with group activities
plummeted to an impossible level. When the new school year started in September 2020 the re-opening of schools
worldwide was uneven. So linking up with partner schools proved a bit challenging. However, we must commend the
enthusiasm and zeal displayed by all the international schools that we were finally able to partner with.
The interactions with:
ü Muslim Hands Model School, Peshawar
ü Christopher Day School, Kharagpur, India
ü Beaconhouse School System, Pakistan
ü GGCME Badshapur School, Pakistan
ü Government Girls’ School, Punjab, Pakistan
Were extremely rewarding as CKA students as they got to meet students from different schools in different countries
finding out that they have so many commonalities and are yet very different. This has helped them understand about
diversity, practice collaboration and respect for other cultures.
As stated in the Objectives of the CKA International Policy (see below) we were able to achieve all in the ISA journey so far.
Visitations were however, not feasible due to the restrictions imposed by the global pandemic.
To develop a strong awareness of similarities and differences in lifestyles and culture in a range of other countries.
To partner with foreign schools with the aim of enriching our whole school curriculum and communication in ICT
through internet projects, staff and student visitations to a variety of places around the world and student exchanges.
To actively encourage the study of foreign languages for our students.
To develop our curriculum and programme skills to centre around key global dimensions of world peace, human
rights, sustainable development, global citizenship, interdependence and social justice
To regularly promote and share our rich cultural heritage while embracing international unity.
To continually develop and develop current and new global relationship.
As stated in the International Policy Plenary: ‘Our policy and curriculum will continually be reviewed to conform to extant
innovations in global practices and relations’; we intend to expand the scope of the ‘One language, one world’ group each
school year. A theme will be chosen for the whole school to work on which will facilitate the diversity of cultures of various
countries, reach to many more international schools worldwide and examine the key global dimensions of world peace,

human rights etc.
The ISA journey has certainly enriched and stretched the CKA community. It has given all members diverse opportunities
to express their ideas and thoughts and produce tangible results to demonstrate all that has been learnt. It has also enabled
us in CKA to appreciate that every action of human beings either adds or subtracts value from the sustainability of the
entire world as we know it and would like it to retain.
