Many of the Young's Brewery Horses were used
frequently for publicity and travelled to many
different special events.

The best horses received extra training to ensure
they were always on best behaviour and well
used to unusual circumstances.

Ebony was in fact often used to help train the
younger horses at the Brewery.

Sammy was his last partner at Young's and as I
have mentioned, because Sammy was a much
lighter coloured horse it would have been
difficult to place him in a team of virtually all
black horses.

Ebony and Sammy made a further journey into
the very centre of London. This time they went
in a motor lorry and unloaded nearer the location
of the film they were going to be in.

I have added some photographs of this journey
which were kindly supplied by Joe.

I also have Joe to thank for giving me my very
first lesson driving a pair of heavy horses,
actually in the streets of Wandsworth when
paying a visit to see Ebony in the early 1980's.
