IVY HOUSE
Ivy House was for sale. A truly beautiful, well proportioned Georgian House that had
attracted my attention on numerous occasions as I passed through the village.
As soon as I arrived home I told Ruth all about Ivy House and we decided to contact the
house agents the very next morning.
It was an agent who Ruth and I both knew as he was married to a daughter of Cyril
Keightley the owner of one of Boston’ s department stores and Cyril’s youngest son was
one of our Sea Scouts. It all helped!
We had an appointment to view on that Saturday afternoon and duly arrived to be
welcomed by Peter Lely and his wife.
