The actual boat on its special trailer behind 'URP 503',
short wheelbase Series Two petrol Land Rover. This is the
trailer with four wheel overrun 'hydraulic' brakes. The wheels
and tyres are the same size as the Land Rover.
FINALLY ON THE WAY
I like the English countryside and always took the scenic
route. Besides in the 1960’s there were not many motorways!
The boats were substantial, well constructed in plywood
and weighed about three to four tons. They came fully
equipped and sat in a large wooden cradle. The mast and yards
(the long bits that normally stand upright on a sailing boat to
