Ebony and Robert in “full shot” at Weybourne Station at 8.15 am!
The wagon and all the props are ours also.
The first date involved two heavy horses and two wagons to be on location at Weybourne
Station, harnessed and ready for anything, by 8am!
Robert, my long suffering “very experienced with horses” and “willing for most things”
neighbour, came with me.
It was well dark and still, this frosty November morning, all had been prepared the night
before and we made ready to leave at about 4am.
The two horses Sam and Ebony loaded well if a little sleepy and the journey went
smoothly.
We arrived at Weybourne in Norfolk with some time to spare and found an excellent “on
location” catering lorry already dispensing good food to the numerous staff already on site.
Our breakfast order was in the course of preparation when an assistant, finding us arrived
ahead of time ordered us to prepare for shooting without delay, yes without breakfast too!
Robert began to smarten Sam and Ebony while I unloaded the vehicles.
MESS THEM UP
“Those vehicles are too clean” was the first observation by those in charge and needed
messing up!
Buckets of mud and a stirrup pump propelling “sludgy gunge” soon transformed our lovely
antique vehicles!
“Well”, I thought, “we are getting paid for it! Did we ask enough?”
